Never one to miss the opportunity for a party, our December Salon marked the first collective Christmas party of four of Edinburgh finest salon events: the Edinburgh City of Literature Lit Salon, the Creative Salon, the Edinburgh Salon, and little old us.
We returned to the Scran Salon’s original home upstairs in Hemma for the occasion. Wine was mulled and a joyful band of punters soon arrived from the four corners of the creative community.
The wonderful trio from Strumpets had baked us a selection of goodies, the lovely folks from Bon Accord brought some light and refreshing beverages from their range, and regular salon stalwart Viv had baked too. Attendees were delighted with the scran!
The four hosts of the (salon) apocalypse then took to the stage to tell us a bit about each of their events. Carolyne from the Creative Salon, which focusses on the performing arts, led off calling out for new members to sign up to hear about their forthcoming events. Eleanor from the City of Literature Trust told us all about Lit Salon, which has been running for a decade and more. Connie then told us about The Edinburgh Salon, which I really must make a point of visiting again in 2017.
Viv then signposted us to Connect Local, which looks to be a good new service linking the food community together.
