First up we had Sarah who told us about the upcoming Savour event, to be held in Summerhall on 5 July. La Petite Mort will be just one of many excellent businesses represented at the event, which is run by Sharon from Bite Magazine, Sarah, and regular Salon baker-in-residence Lea Harris.
In a neat segue we then had Holly from this evening’s venue to tell us about the canapes these provided for us to sample. They’d put on a lovely spread, so everyone was highly appreciative. After a little break to enjoy the likes of pulled pork sausage rolls and Cullen skink arancini, we had Stevan from Deliveroo, which is an great new restaurant delivery service which launched in our fair city this very day. There are exciting times ahead with a growing number of local businesses involved, so we look forward to seeing how things develop.
The lovely folks from Thinking Chocolate had sent us along some fabulous sweet treats which we sampled throughout the evening.
We then took the opportunity to go round the room, at the suggestion of one of our new saloneers, and say a little bit about what had brought us to the event, which was rather good fun.
All that was left was for me to trail the upcoming #ScotFood chat which directly followed our event, flag up the programme of things happening for Slow Food Week, which is this week, and then give an update on the Union of Genius Kickstarter, which is entering its final week and demands your attention.
We look forward to seeing y’all next month, when (I think) we’ll be back at Hemma.
