With German Unity Day taking centre stage in our usual upstairs space, we held a focussed and exclusive Scran Salon in the main bar at Akva.
We adapted to our bartley surroundings with the excellent Chris Hoban from R&B Distillers conducting a table by table tasting of their whiskies.
The tale of R(aasay) & B(orders) is an interesting one with planned distilleries in their named locations aimed to produce whiskies in the style of those that Chris had along for us to sample.
The audience got a valuable insight into the experience of building awareness of an emerging brand at a time when whisky is booming in the export market. We were warmly thankful for Chris’ contribution.
I would add a couple of other items of note. With World Porridge Day coming up on 10 October local porridge heroes Stoats are supporting an initiative that will enable Mary’s Meals to feed further underprivileged kids across the globe: #PorrdigeSmiles. So get making faces and tweeting them. Full details are available here.
And finally, The Power of Food Festival is keen to recruit further backing for their 2017 events, so if you feel like you could contribute, seek them out here.
See you again next month for some further Scran merriment. Sign up for tickets, here.
