Opening up the evening we had Bruce and Elaine from Union of Genius, who told us about the upcoming Kickstarter that they’re planning. This will see the supporters of this fine soupy establishment coming together for the second time to crowdfund an expansion to their current commercial kitchen capacity. We look forward to hearing about this, as it progresses.
Next we had Marie-Amelie from the Power of Food Festival. This new celebration takes place in and around the summer solstice in June, with the details sounding pretty impressive. Check out their website for full details. Then Felicia from the Smoked Duck told us all about an upcoming event called the Signature Supper, which brings together the culinary might of Louise and Sarah-Jane from the Fireside Collective, Anna from Alright Treacle and Felicia for a magnificent sounding dinner at St Stephen’s Church, just along the road fromtonight’s venue. It should be an excellent evening. Ticket details are available here.
To round things out we had a brief cameo from regular saloneer Susan McNaughton who told us all about the Crail Food Festival. This great event takes place in June, with full details on their website, here.
All that was left was for me to thank the folks at Last Word, who were just splendid, commend everyone to the delicious White Russian cake that Lea Harris had made for us, point everyone at the #ScotFood hour on Twitter, which directly followed us, then trail our special bonus ZomaScran event next Monday, which promises some further cocktail fun, next week.
We look forward to seeing y’all next week, then next month we’ll be off to another new venue in Tollcross, for some orgasmic salon fun.
